You just placed a policy with XYZ Insurance Company for your client through your favorite brokerage agency. Now should XYZ Ins. be allowed to solicit that policy owner to sell other products and/or services? What if you get a piece of the commission and you don't have to do anything to earn it?
We want to hear your thoughts on this issue. Is it OK for the carrier to solicit your client? Why or why not?

I think Home Office interaction with clients helps retain them. Dawn
I think HO interaction with permission from the agent with clients helps retain them!! If the company does not believe that the clients belong to the agent, wait until the clients start moving to another company??
A agent should always know what is being sent/said to his client. It is his client.
What if the client asked the broker about the information that the carrier had sent him? It would definately put the broker at a disadvantage. Also, would the client question the need of the broker if he could deal direct with the carrier?
